Tuesday 2nd July - "Heroes and Villains"
Opera is full of courageous adventurers risking all to face the bad guy, or free the hapless victim, or indeed, those victims taking it upon themselves to free themselves from the clutches of some nefarious tyrant. In short, opera is all about Heroes and Villains (and the occasional victim). At the same time, some of operas’ characters have been miscategorized – heroes who aren’t, villains who aren’t, and some who appear to be victims but are in fact, powerful figures in charge of their own destiny. Join Opera Bites in this exciting journey through opera’s Heroes and Villains which includes opera’s best loved tunes from Carmen, Rigoletto, Turandot and more.
Early bookings are highly recommended as our Opera in the Pub events regularly sell out.
